Restricted arrivals in the spot market from producing regions also influenced cardamom futures prices.

Cardamom prices rose by Rs 2.80 to Rs 765.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, supported by good demand in the spot market due to the ongoing festive season.

Restricted arrivals in the spot market from producing regions also influenced cardamom futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September rose by Rs 2.80 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 765.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 125 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in September edged up by Rs 1.10 or 0.26 per cent to Rs 808.70 per kg in 34 lots.

Analysts said a firming trend in the spot market on good demand amid the ongoing festive season, coupled with restricted arrivals from producing regions, mainly led to the rise in cardamom futures prices.
