Crude oil futures down on global cues

Crude oil prices weakened by Rs 6 to Rs 4,215 per barrel at the futures trade today on emergence of selling by local traders on the back of weak global cues.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in July shed Rs 6 to Rs 4,215 per barrel with a business turnover of 12,677 lots. Likewise, the oil for delivery in August shed Rs 4 or 0.09 per cent to Rs 4,265 per barrel with an open interest of 11 lots.

Analysts said fresh selling by traders in tandem with a weakening global trend mainly led to the decline in crude oil prices at the futures trade.

Meanwhile, crude fell by 46 cents to $93.71 per barrel in New York.
