Jeera futures declines on weak demand

Jeera prices declined by Rs 155 to Rs 14,475 per quintal at the futures trade today owing to weak domestic as well as export demand against adequate stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in September declined by Rs 155 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 14,475 per quintal with an open interest of 447 lots. Similarly, June contract lost Rs 128 or 0.95 per cent to Rs 13,381 per quintal with a trade volume of 5,430 lots.

Market analysts said weak domestic as well as export demand mainly led to the decline in jeera futures prices.
