Mentha oil futures down on profit-booking

PTI Updated - April 06, 2011 at 11:52 AM.

Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 2.80 to Rs 1,037 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April shed Rs 2.80 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 1,037 per kg with a business turnover of two lots. Similarly, May contract traded lower by 60 paise or 0.06 per cent to Rs 965.80 per kg with an open interest of a single lot.

Traders attributed the fall in mentha oil futures prices to profit-booking by speculators amid subdued demand in the spot market.
