Slack arrivals drive moong, tur higher

Slack buying at higher rate dragged tur prices in Indore mandis on Wednesday by ₹50 with tur (Maharashtra) being quoted at ₹5,150, while tur (Madhya Pradesh) was at ₹4,100-4,400 a quintal. Given steep decline in domestic stock and arrival of new tur still three months away, its uptrend will likely to continue, said Prakash Vora, a local pulse trader.

Tur dal (full) was being quoted at ₹6,900-7,150, tur dal (sawa no.) at ₹6,250-6,450, while tur marka ruled at ₹7,300-7,550.

Slack arrival and improved buying also lifted moong prices in local mandis in the past one week by ₹400 with moong (bold) at ₹7,200-7,400, while moong (medium) ruled at ₹6,400-6,800. Moong dal (medium) was ₹7,500-7,700, moong dal (bold) at ₹8,000-8,200, while moong mongar ruled at ₹8,400-8,800.

Urad (best) in Indore mandis today went for ₹4,200-4,500, while urad (medium) ruled at ₹3,800-4,000. Urad dal (medium) was ₹4,900-5,200, while urad dal (bold) ruled at ₹5,300-5,600, while urad mongar ruled at ₹6,200-6,450.
