Steel prices remain firm

Quiet conditions prevailed at the local steel and iron market today as the prices moved in a tight range and settled around the previous levels.

Market analysts said lack of worthwhile buying activity due to paucity of funds amid absence of demand mainly kept the prices unchanged.

Following are the quotations in Rs per tonne:

CTD saria (Kamdhenu) 8 mm 43,800, 10 mm 43,100, 12 mm 42,400, 16-25 mm 42,600.

Saria Jai Bharat (ISO 9002) 8 mm 39,650, 10 mm 38,850, 12 mm 38,050, 16-25 mm 38,050.

Amba saria (ISO 9002) 8 mm 39,000, 10 mm 38,300, 12 mm 37,700, 16-25 mm 37,500.

Amba shakti: (TMT) 8 mm 41,200, 10 mm 41,300, 12 mm 40,700, 16-25 mm 40,900.

M S Angle: (50x5) (50x6) 33,000, (40x5) (40x6) 33,500.
