Cardamom up on regulated supply

Small cardamom prices improved on regulated release of the spice by growers at auctions held in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. At today’s (forenoon) auction held in Bodinayakannur conducted by the Cardamom Planters’ Association, arrivals stood at 27 tonnes and almost the entire quantity was traded. The auction average moved up to ₹809.80 a kg from ₹789.42 the previous Monday. Total arrivals stood at 582 tonnes from 12 auctions last week against 749 tonnes the previous week. The individual auction average vacillated between ₹786 and ₹967 a kg last week. Prices in ₹/kg : 8mm green bold 1,125-50; 7-8 mm: 950; 6-7 mm 850-875. Good bulk was traded at ₹820-850.
