Cotton blooms on demand

Cotton prices moved up on the back of fresh demand from domestic mills. Moreover, export buying also supported the price to move up. According to traders, farmers are withholding their raw cotton or kapas stocks expecting a better price. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was up ₹200 to ₹32,500-800 per candy of 356 kg. About 50,000 bales of 170 kg each arrived in Gujarat and 1.35 lakh bales arrived in India. Kapas gained on good ginning demand and was up by ₹10 to ₹825-865 per 20 kg and gin delivery kapas was at ₹850-880. Cottonseed was up ₹10 to ₹400-410 per 10 kg.
