Downward trend persists in pepper

The easy trend in spot pepper continued on Tuesday following slow down by buyers, who are expecting the release of containers awaiting DRI clearance at various ports/ICDs in the country. Imported pepper of different low bulk density was reportedly being sold at ₹400- ₹415 a kg in the primary markets. 18 tonnes of mixed pepper from the plains and high ranges were traded today at ₹420-₹430 a kg. Spot prices decreased by ₹100 a quintal to close at ₹42,100 (ungarbled) and ₹44,100 (garbled) a quintal.
