Fall in feed output seen next month

Despite a fall in the prices of Soya, Bajra and Maize, feed prices remained unchanged on Wednesday.

Subhash Sharma, Financial Head, Sarvottam Poultry Feed Supply Centre Pvt Ltd, told Business Line that despite a fall in the prices of key ingredients, feed prices were kept unchanged because the availability of Soyameal is very low. While the fresh arrivals pulled Bajra down. It’s unlikely to see any alteration in Feed prices in near future, he added. Expectations of a fall in production next month is also a big reason behind not slashing feed prices down.

Although, the availability of soya meal is low, soyameal prices went down by Rs 300 and quoted at Rs 3,900 a quintal on Wednesday .Bajra eased by Rs 30 and sold at Rs 1,250, Maize went down by Rs 160 and ruled at Rs 1,350. DCP decreased by Rs 5 and went for Rs 37 a kg, while fish oil remained unchanged and quoted at Rs 96 a litre.

Feed Prices

Broiler concentrates feed quoted at Rs 2,050 for a 50-kg bag while broiler starter mash was at Rs 1,520. Broiler pre-starter concentrate 30 per cent sold at Rs 1,740 for a 30-kg bag while layer concentrate quoted at Rs 1,570 for a 50-kg bag.

Pre-lay mash was at Rs 1,080, while broiler finisher went for Rs 1,510 for a 50-kg bag.

Poultry Products

Meanwhile, egg went down by 28 paise on lack of buying and sold to Rs 3.15. On the other hand, broiler and chick prices continued to rule around their previous levels. Broiler quoted at Rs 70-72 a kg, while chick went for Rs 15.
