Global Castor Conference to be held in Gujarat on Feb 15

Gujarat will play host to the 23rd Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA) Global Castor Conference 2025 on February 15, which will focus on emerging trends in usage of castor oil.

Survey presentation

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will be the chief guest at the event that will feature a presentation on the findings of India’s Castor Crop Survey 2024-25 conducted in key castor growing States—Gujarat, Rajasthan & Andhra Pradesh— by M/s Agriwatch.

This will be followed by the panel discussion on ‘Castor Oil Price Outlook-2025’ by the eminent speakers from the castor business and trade. India currently meets more than 90 per cent of the world’s demand for castor oil. India’s exports of castor oil and derivatives are valued at approximately ₹15,000 crore ($1.8 billion) per annum and the global castor derivatives market, estimated to be over $6.0 billion, is highly dependent on India. 

The event will also have sessions on “Castor Oil Consumption Outlook and Emerging Trends”, advancing the future of sustainable castor farming, advancements in castor seed research, among others.
