Outlook turns bearish for masur on higher arrivals

Our Correspondent Updated - January 23, 2015 at 09:51 PM.

The sluggish trend in pulse seeds and pulses continued on slack buying and higher arrivals. The downtrend in masur continued on weak buying and higher arrivals with masur (bold) declining to ₹5,850-75 a quintal (₹5,900), while masur (Madhya Pradesh) also declined to ₹5,400. Given arrival of 215 containers of imported masur from Canada at Mumbai port, old imported stocks and hopes of bumper crop this year, the bearish sentiment is likely to continue, said Prakash Vora, a local pulse trader.

Masur dal (medium) was being quoted at ₹6,500-6,600, while masur dal (bold) ruled at ₹6,800-7,000.

Moong (bold) remained firm at ₹7,800-8,000, while moong (medium) was ₹7,500-7,600. Moong dal (medium) traded at ₹8,700-8,960, moong dal (bold) at ₹9,000-50, while moong mongar ruled at ₹9,700-9,800. Urad (bold) declined to ₹6,050-6,150. Urad dal (medium) went for ₹7,200-7,300, urad dal (bold) at ₹7,400-7,500, while urad mongar was ₹7,600-7,900 (down Rs 100 from last week).
