Panic sales pound pepper

Panic sales in Karnataka has pulled the pepper prices further down on Friday and thus prices dropped by ₹3,300 a quintal in a week.Only 10 tonnes from Wayanad and two tonnes from the high ranges were traded on the terminal market at ₹525-₹540 a kg. Spot prices declined by ₹400 a quintal to close at ₹54,500 (ungarbled) and ₹56,500 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $8,925 a tonne c&f for Europe and $9,175 a tonne c&f for the US.
