Pepper gains on short supply

Spot pepper prices gained marginally on good buying support amid tight supply. On the terminal market, 23 tonnes were traded at ₹695-708 a kg. Rajkumari pepper traded at ₹710. Spot pepper moved up by ₹100 a quintal to ₹69,700 (ungarbled) and ₹72,700 (garbled). June, July and August contracts on the IPSTA remained unchanged at ₹71,000, ₹70,000 and ₹69,000 a quintal. Export prices were at $11,000 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,250 for the US.
