Pepper remains unchanged

Pepper prices remained unchanged as demand matched supply. Exporters having earlier commitments are actively covering from both Karnataka and Kerala. On the terminal market, 37 tonnes of pepper arrived and of this 16 tonnes were from Karnataka, trade sources told Business Line . Europeans were claiming that Brazilian pepper was being offered cheaper. Vietnam exporters were getting good support from other markets in Asia and Africa. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹60,000 (ungarbled) and ₹63,000 (garbled) a quintal. Active contracts on the IPSTA platform stayed steady. Export prices were at $10,200 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,450 for the US.
