Wheat prices fell further by Rs 20 per quintal in the wholesale grains market on Saturday on increased supplies.
However, rice basmati and a few other bold grains found fresh buying support and ended higher.
Traders said increased supplies mainly kept pressure on wheat prices. They said fresh buying support from stockists and retailers mainly helped rice basmati and a few other bold grain prices to trade higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) remained weak and shed Rs 20 to Rs 1,590-1,600 per quintal, while atta flour mills held steady at Rs 1,600-1,610 per 90 kg.
On the other hand, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,600-6,700 and Rs 5,800-6,900 per quintal, respectively.
Bajra rose also rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1,295-1,300, while jowar yellow and white were up by Rs 25 and Rs 50 to Rs 1,350-1,375 and Rs 2,200-2,300 per quintal, respectively.
