Despite lukewarm trading in the market, prices of dara wheat and flour remained unchanged on Tuesday.

Expectations of delay in arrivals of new crop due to untimely rains in the region are keeping wheat prices firm, said Radhey Shyam, a commodity expert. Arrivals are likely to delay by 10-12 days as the crop is not fully matured yet. Currently FCI’s stock and steady domestic demand are providing good support to the market, said Radhey Shyam.

According to the trade experts, wheat prices may continue to rule around current levels for the next few days without much alteration.

In the physical market, dara wheat sold at ₹1,600-05. Around 900 bags of wheat arrived and stocks were directly offloaded at the mills. Mill delivery was at ₹1,600 while delivery at the chakki was at ₹1,605 a quintal.

Following a steady trend in wheat, flour too ruled flat and sold at ₹1,840 . Similarly, Chokar was unchanged at ₹1,335 a quintal.
