Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened higher at Rs 29,667 per 10 grams on Tuesday against the previous close of Rs 29,617.
The yellow metal made a high of Rs 29,724 and low of Rs 29,667. It was up 0.25 per cent at Rs 29,690 at 1.13 p.m.
In Comex, the yellow metal for April delivery was up $1.5 at $1,588 a troy ounce at 1.13 p.m.
