The 360 degree turn in the Sensex and Nifty in less than 24 hours sent the Nifty heavyweights tumbling this morning.

While the top ten Nifty losers’ list was full, only two stocks made it to the gainers’ list leaving eight slots vacant, indicating the panic that had gripped the markets.

Sun Pharma, with a gain of 1.44 per cent, was trading at Rs 489.95 and Maruti, with a gain of 0.76 per cent, was trading at Rs 1,073.90.

HDFC was the biggest loser in terms of percentage, shedding 4.44 per cent to trade at Rs 644. JP Associates lost 3.49 per cent to trade at Rs 70.45 and ICICI Bank lost 3.34 per cent to trade at Rs 873.95.

Tata Power, DLF, Sesa Goa, IDFC, Reliance Power, Reliance Infra and Wipro lost between 3.3 per cent and 2.74 per cent and were among the Nifty losers.
