Aditya Birla Chem completes acquisition of Jayshree Chem's chlor-alkali division

Aditya Birla Chemicals (India) on Monday completed acquisition of the chlor-alkali division of Jayshree Chemicals. The division comprises the caustic soda manufacturing unit at Ganjam (Odisha) and the salt manufacturing facility at Pundi (Andhra Pradesh). The company had earlier entered into an agreement in September 8, 2014, for acquisition of the division from Jayshree Chemicals on slump sale basis for ₹212 crore. Shares of AB Chemicals edged down 1.66 per cent at ₹212.55 on the NSE.
