Airline stocks up on jet fuel price cut

Reuters Updated - January 23, 2018 at 04:41 PM.

Shares of airline companies today rose as state-run oil marketing companies have cut jet fuel prices.

Jet Airways was up 1.4 per cent and SpiceJet gained 0.9 per cent.

According to analysts, jet fuel contributes one-third of the operational costs of airlines.

Jet fuel price cut at the beginning of the holidays could help improve the margins of airlines, they say.
