Asian Paints spurts 2.3% on NSE

Asian Paints spurted 2.31 per cent to emerge the top gainer on the NSE on Monday morning. At 11.39 am it was trading at Rs 816.05 as against its previous close at Rs 797.65.

Bajaj Auto was broadly firm in the morning session, riding up 1.76 per cent at Rs 2,262.40 as against Rs 2,223.30 at close last week.

ONGC flared up 1.58 per cent at Rs 356.55 as against Rs 351 at close on Friday.

Cairn India gained 1.44 per cent at Rs 257.75. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 254.10.

Sun Pharma rose 1.31 per cent to trade at Rs 939. The share had finished the previous session at Rs 926.85.

The BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty were trading in the red in the morning session, reacting to exit poll projections that AAP will form the government in Delhi. The Sensex dropped nearly 300 points to trade below the 28,500-mark, while the Nifty shed 85 points to hover below the 8,600-mark.
