Auto shares hold firm on BSE

Auto shares maintained their firm tone on the BSE ahead of the close on Monday. At 3.10 pm Maruti Suzuki was firm but off its morning highs with gains of 2.67 per cent. It was trading at Rs 3,449.40 as against Rs 3,359.70 at close last week.

Tata Motors extended its rally to hold gains of 2.35 per cent at Rs 523.75 as against Rs 511.70 at close yesterday.

Tata Steel trimmed some of its morning gains to quote at Rs 416.60, up 1.41 per cent on Friday’s close at Rs 410.80.

The markets were trading near flat in late session, off their early highs, on weak global cues.

Larsen & Toubro edged lower to trade at Rs 1,556.25 as against Rs 1,534.70 at close last week. This represented a gain of 1.40 per cent.

ONGC flared up 1.20 per cent to quote at Rs 353.45 as against Rs 349.25 at close in the previous session.
