Coal India holds firm, up 3.4% on NSE

Bajaj Auto made rapid strides in the afternoon session to emerge the top gainer on the NSE as well. At the close it was trading at Rs 2,300.30. This represented a gain of 6.92 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 2,151.35. In Q4 results announced today the company said net profit had dropped nearly 19 per cent.

Coal India rallied further to trade at Rs 373.70 as against Rs 361.35 at close on Wednesday. This was a gain of 3.42 per cent.

Tech Mahindra extended its recent firm tone to trade at Rs 655.60. This was a gain of 2.31 per cent on its previous close at Rs 640.80.

Grasim Industries was trading firm at Rs 3,675.5 as against Rs 3,595.4 at close yesterday. This was a gain of 2.23 per cent.

Axis Bank rode up further to notch up gains of 2.19 per cent at Rs 570.45 as against Rs 558.25 at close yesterday.
