FMCG major Hindustan Unilever held on to most of its morning gains to quote at Rs 559 ahead of the close on Friday. At 2.45 p.m. it was up 1.27 per cent on its earlier close of Rs 552.
Bajaj Auto rode up 1.26 per cent to trade at Rs 1,932 as against its overnight close of Rs 1,907.90. The company had reported robust numbers for the December quarter yesterday despite sales sliding 5 per cent.
Cipla was firm but shed part of its gains by late trade. It was trading at Rs 416.10, up 0.84 per cent on yesterday’s close of Rs 412.65.
BHEL steamed up 0.41 per cent to trade at Rs 169.80 as against Rs 169.10 at close on Thursday.
Tata Power came off its morning highs to quote at Rs 78.45, up 0.38 per cent on its previous close of Rs 78.15.
