Maruti zips up 3.6% on BSE

Auto stocks Maruti Suzuki and M&M sped up by close of trading on the BSE on Monday. At 3.40 pm Maruti Suzuki was the top gainer, up 3.57 per cent at Rs 1,797.85. The stock had closed the previous session at Rs 1,735.90.

M&M rode up to hold gains of 3.42 per cent by close. It was quoting at Rs 1,014.10, as against last week's close at Rs 980.55.

Larsen and Toubro extended its morning gains to trade at Rs 1,237.40, up 3.33 per cent on its previous close of Rs 1,197.55.

Banking stocks also made rapid gains in the latter half. HDFC Bank was trading at Rs 734.35, a gain of 3.23 per cent on its earlier close of Rs 711.35.

State Bank of India was trading at Rs 1,691.35 representing a gain of 2.58 per cent on its previous close of Rs 1,648.75.
