Tea stocks turn hot on Kenya drought

Reuters Updated - December 07, 2021 at 02:24 AM.

Stocks of tea companies rose on Wednesday on reports of Kenya drought.

Shares of McLeod Russel India Ltd was trading up 4 per cent or Rs 10.20 at Rs 265.30 while Jay Shree Tea and Industries Ltd gained 2.46 per cent or Rs 2 to Rs 83.30.

Traders hope a drought in Kenya, the world's biggest tea producer, will lift global prices.

Higher prices would boost export revenues for companies.
