Thirumalai Chem to start phthalic anhydride manufacturing plant

Thirumalai Chemicals on Thursday informed the stock exchanges that it has decided to establish manufacturing facilities for production of phthalic anhydride with capacity of about 60,000 tonnes per annum and other products at Dahej in Gujarat. The expansion will be implemented in a phased manner, the company said; the first phase is likely to be completed during Financial Year 2018-19, it added. The investment will be funded from internal accruals. The Thirumalai Chemicals stock closed at ₹1,427.1, down 2.65 per cent, on the NSE.
