IT shares held on to their firm undertone at the close of trading on the NSE on Friday. At 3.40 pm HCL Technologies led the charge on the bourse, trading at Rs 957.25 as against Rs 926.10 at close on Thursday. This represented a gain of 3.36 per cent.
UltraTech Cement made rapid strides in the afternoon session to notch up gains of 1.84 per cent at Rs 2,914.70 against Rs 2,862 at close yesterday.
TCS advanced 1.68 per cent to quote at Rs 2,592.80 against Rs 2,550 at close overnight.
Bajaj Auto rode up 1.62 per cent to trade at Rs 2,544.80. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 2,504.30.
NTPC charged up 1.55 per cent at Rs 137.70 against Rs 135.60 at close yesterday.
