The bank reported a 30 per cent rise in net profit to Rs. 2,910 crore in the quarter ended December 2014, from Rs. 2,234 crore in the year-ago period, lagging estimates, although bad loans rose less than feared.
UltraTech Cement gained 2.93 per cent at Rs 3,124 as against Rs 3,035.10 at close overnight.
Lupin and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries were the two pharma shares among the top gainers. Lupin rode up 2.7 per cent to quote at Rs 1,661.35 as against Rs 1,617.70 at close yesterday.

In the broader market, the Sensex and the Nifty were trading in positive territory on firm global cues, though a higher inflation number and a drop in the index for industrial production kept a lid on gains. The Sensex gained over 90 points to once again edge closer to the 28,900 level, while the Nifty rose nearly 40 points to eye the 8,750 mark.
