Abraham Koshy is Federal Bank’s new non-executive chairman

The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Abraham Koshy as non-executive chairman of Federal Bank.

Koshy has been an independent director on the private sector lender’s board since May 2007.

A post-graduate in business administration from Cochin University, Koshy took his doctoral degree with specialisation in marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

He has been serving as Professor of Marketing at IIM-Ahmedabad since 1989.

Koshy, who has co-authored a book on marketing with legendary marketing guru Philip Kotler, is also on the board of various companies. He is also a member of the SEBI’s advisory committee for investor protection and education fund.

Koshy has been appointed as chairman in the place of Sureshkumar, who recently ceased to be a director and non-executive chairman of the bank.
