Amex launches super-premium Corporate Platinum Card

American Express has launched a platinum card specially designed to cater to the needs of the top management of companies.

This premium B2B offering will complete the product suite for American Express as regards corporate cards, said Manoj Adlakha, Vice-President and General Manager, Global Corporate Payments, American Express India.

American Express, a dominant player in corporate payment segment, has already two products in its corporate card stable — Green Card, an entry-level product; and Gold Card, a higher-end product.

The latest product — Corporate Platinum Card — has come a little over a decade after the launch of the Gold Card in 2001.

The American Express Corporate Platinum Card — positioned as offering ‘a life extraordinaire’ — is a super-premium card loaded with benefits.

Adlakha said that this card is designed to offer experiential privileges and corporate savings. It is targeted at C-suite executives and also small and medium enterprise owners.

For the Platinum card offering, American Express has tied up with airlines, hotels, car rental companies.

The benefits include highest air accident insurance of Rs 5 crore, preferential rates on airfares across various classes, up to 50 per cent discounts on business class airfares, complimentary tickets and upgrades to first class.

Part of the bundle of benefits is an overseas medical insurance cover of $ 25,000, including hospitalisation cover.

Card member will also enjoy Priority Pass access to 600 VIP airport lounges in over 300 cities across 100 countries.

Adlakha said that the Platinum card would help companies meet their business objectives at lower cost.
