Union Bank of India issued 19 Aadhaar Numbers to the residents of KON Village in Thane District on January 10. The first lot of Aadhaar Numbers were distributed by Dr Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Deputy Director-General, UIDAI, Mumbai.
The Executive Director of the bank, Mr S. S. Mundra, was also present.
The bank would also open accounts of the willing residents while issuing the Aadhar numbers. It has partnered with Vakrangee Softwares Ltd for Aadhar implementation at KON.
