HDFC Bank's new travel credit-cards

HDFC Bank launched three premium credit-cards — Regalia, Superia and Platinum Edge — in Bangalore on Tuesday aimed at the frequent traveller.

About 80 per cent of the bank's credit-cards are sold to internal customers, said Mr Pralay Mondal, Country Head – Retail Assets and Credit Cards, HDFC Bank. And the travel credit cards, he added, were part of the bank's strategy to innovate and segment.

The bank's credit-card base stood at 50.5 lakh as of March 2011.

The travel credit-cards will be available on both VISA and MasterCard platforms, and comes with a host of benefits for the user.

Regalia, for instance, targets the ultra-rich global Indian offering a unique travel and lifestyle portal, www.hdfcbank regalia.com , wherein the user can book air tickets online — both domestic and international, book hotels across the globe, and also movie and show tickets.

Superia cards are targeted at the affluent Indian traveller, while the Platinum Edge cards are for value-conscious Indian travellers.
