CH SS Mallikarjuna Rao has taken charge as the MD and CEO of Allahabad Bank effective September 19. He was earlier Executive Director of Syndicate Bank.
Rao has been a professional banker for over 33 years, having held several key positions such as General Manager and CFO in Oriental Bank of Commerce and Assistant Vice-President in erstwhile Global Trust Bank, said a press statement issued by Allahabad Bank.
Rao started his career in 1985 as a probationary officer in Bank of Maharashtra. After joining Oriental Bank of Commerce he served as regional head and also as general manager in charge of various departments. He has exposure in credit, recovery, treasury, risk management, IT, retail banking, marketing, and alternative delivery channels, the release said.
