RBI directs banks and White Label ATM Operators to ensure ATMs dispense ₹100 and ₹200 notes on a regular basis

Towards this end, the Central bank directed Banks and WLAOs that 75 per cent of all ATMs should dispense either ₹100 or ₹200 denomination banknotes from at least one cassette by September 30, 2025

The RBI has asked all banks and White Label ATM Operators (WLAOs) to ensure that their ATMs dispense ₹100 and ₹200 denomination banknotes on a regular basis.

Towards this end, the Central bank directed Banks and WLAOs that 75 per cent of all ATMs should dispense either ₹100 or ₹200 denomination banknotes from at least one cassette by September 30, 2025.

Further, by March 31, 2026, 90 per cent of all ATMs should dispense either ₹100 or ₹200 denomination banknotes from at least one cassette.

This move is aimed at enhancing public access to frequently used denominations of banknotes.
