This is the first edition of the festival since the verdict decriminalisation of Section 377 of IPC in August 2018.

The 10th edition of Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival opened on Wednesday. This is South Asia's biggest LGBTQ film festival. This year, the theme is 'over the rainbow'. It is set to screen 160 films from 43 countries. The festival will go on till June 17, 2019.

Kashish Queer Film Festival is an yearly fest which was started in 2010.

Kashish was voted as one of the Top 5 LGBT film festival in the world and was first Indian LGBT festival to be approved by the Information & Broadcasting Ministry.
