Kolkata has some really grand old buildings, many of them in a sad state of disrepair. This building is at the end of the lane in Kumartuli, the potters colony in Kolkata.

At Kumartuli, Kolkata's potter's colony. This is where the gods and goddesses take shape. Work peaks in the days ahead of Durga Puja. The potters are mostly from the Nadia district.
