Harman India, wholly-owned subsidiary of premium audio and infotainment solutions company Harman International of the US, will support AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory in teaching music to poor children.
Noble causeAnnouncing this at a press conference here today, M Lakshmi Narayan, Country Manager and Managing Director of Harman India, said the company will partner with the Oscar-winning music director’s initiative, the Sunshine Orchestra, to train at least 60 students of music from economically underserved sections of society.
Harman has also supported Rahman’s initiatives, including awarding the JBL Sound Scholarship that enabled his KM Music Conservatory, set up in 2008, to hire international faculty, for the last five years. The conservatory offers a range of part-time and full-time courses in Hindustani and Western classical music and music technology.
