Following electoral setbacks in Haryana and Maharashtra, the party will deliberate on an action plan and program for the Indian National Congress for the upcoming year. Two resolutions addressing key national challenges under BJP rule are also expected to be adopted.

The program scheduled for December 26, and December 27 will include AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, among 150 dignitaries invited to commemorate the centenary of the 1924 Belgaum Congress session, presided over by Mahatma Gandhi.

During this session, Mahatma Gandhi spent eight days in Belagavi, marking a significant moment in the freedom struggle.

‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan.’

Congress General Secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh, speaking at a joint press conference, stated that the party would also address the alleged insult of Ambedkar by Home Minister Amit Shah. The public rally on December 27 has been titled ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan.’

Ramesh further noted, “Just as the Udaipur brainstorming conclave in 2022 led to the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Belagavi meeting is also expected to produce an action plan to safeguard constitutional values.”

In addition to passing resolutions, the meeting will discuss plans to enhance operational efficiencies. AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal stated, “The party may announce the creation of a permanent body to manage different elections.”
