The federations representing about 82,000 workers of 41 ordnance factories under the Ordnance Factories Board said workers overwhelmingly supported the proposal for an indefinite strike against the Centre's decision to corporatise the OFB.

The federations held a secret ballot in all the OFB establishments last week to assess the opinion of the workers. The federations said they will decide the day for commencement of the strike in the second week of July.

"In spite of the Covid 19 lockdown period, more than 99 per cent employees participated in the strike ballot held during this period and have overwhelmingly supported in favour of the indefinite strike," the three federations, having affiliations with the Left, BMS and the INTUC said.
