200 meritorious CBSE govt school students to get cash award

Out of 200 rewards, 50 each will be conferred to the students from Science, Commerce, Humanity and Vocational streams.

A day after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the board results for Class XII, the Human Resource Development Ministry has announced a cash award of Rs 1 lakh each for 200 meritorious students who passed this year from CBSE-affiliated Government schools.

Students who studied from class XI till XII from schools run by the State Government will be eligible.

An official release said that out of the 200 rewards, 50 each will be for students from Science, Commerce, Humanities and Vocational streams.

The names of awardees will be announced in a month’s time. The pass percentage of the class XII CBSE Boards exam this year is 82.10 per cent, the highest in five years.
