Cherrilearn, a Mangaluru-based impact-driven edu-tech startup, has partnered with CodeCraft Technologies, a software services company headquartered in Mangaluru, to provide free digital learning access to 1,000 students in government Kannada medium schools across Dakshina Kannada district for the academic year 2024-25.
The initiative was formally inaugurated earlier this month with the implementation of Cherrilearn in two government schools at Uli village in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, reaching 300 students in its first phase. The platform offers gamified, interactive, curriculum-aligned content in Kannada, designed for primary-grade students in rural areas, and is accessible even in low-bandwidth environments.
To ensure smooth implementation, Cherrilearn has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Dakshina Kannada, establishing a coordinated framework for deployment and monitoring in collaboration with school authorities.
Addressing media persons in Mangaluru on Friday, Shrinidhi RS, Founder of Cherrilearn, said this collaboration marks a significant step toward educational equity for rural learners. “We are committed to leveraging technology to empower students from underserved communities with the tools they need to succeed,” he said.
Cherrilearn aims to onboard 1 lakh students studying in government Kannada medium schools across Karnataka during the current academic year through similar CSR-backed partnerships, he said.
Jobin Joseph, Operations Lead at CodeCraft Technologies, said: “At CodeCraft, we believe access to quality education is not a privilege, but a right. Our partnership with Cherrilearn is a step toward bridging the digital divide and unlocking the potential of young learners in government Kannada medium schools.”
Shrinidhi has been honoured with ‘The Hindu businessline Young Changemaker Award 2023’.
