The Ministry of Human Resource Development has agreed to relax the requirements for teacher recruitment to enable States to meet the deadline for Right to Education, the HRD Minister, Pallam Raju, said on Friday.
The State Governments are expected to implement RTE by March 31. However, with less than 10 days to go before implementing the deadline it looks like a number of State Governments may not be able to fulfill the norms. Thirteen States had requested for relaxation of the teacher qualification requirements.
