Unitedworld opens design institute campus in Ahmedabad

Affiliated to Gulbarga University, the Unitedworld Institute of Design (UID) on Tuesday opened its Ahmedabad campus where students will be mentored by alumni from National Institute of Design (NID) and other institutions.

The new campus, which will shape the skills of designers in various disciplines, commenced the first batch of students on Tuesday. UID will offer four-year full-time degree programme in five disciplines of

design from this year. These include fashion design, lifestyle and accessories design, product design, interior design, fine arts (visual communications & graphic design) and post graduation in fashion retail

management area, according to a press release.

The students will be mentored by alumni of NID, Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University, and the Faculty of Fine Arts, M S University, Vadodara.

Mr Ritesh Handa, Managing Director of United Group, said 50 students were selected for the first batch out of 200 applicants.

UID is a part of the United Group, a business conglomerate spread across India and other countries in South Asia.
