Prices of subsidised LPG cylinders have been hiked by ₹3 a cylinder due to the increase in commission paid to dealers. The hike was done last week and was effective from midnight October 22-October 23.
After the hike, prices of subsidised LPG cylinders in Delhi is now ₹417 a cylinder, ₹419 a cylinder in Kolkata, ₹452 a cylinder in Mumbai and ₹404.50 a cylinder in Chennai.
According to the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell, dealer commissions were ₹40.71 a cylinder for 14.2-kg cylinders in December 2013, which have now been increased to ₹43.71 a cylinder.
Dealers’ commission has also resulted in the rate of non-subsidised LPG, which a consumer buys after consuming his quota of 12 cylinders at below-market rates, being hiked to ₹883.50 a cylinder in Delhi from ₹880 previously.
