Mahindra Ecole Centrale Hyderabad to offer dual degree programme

Mahindra École Centrale (MEC) has announced admissions for the Integrated Dual Degree Programme for its inaugural batch set to commence in August 2014 from its sprawling new green campus at Bahadurpally near Hyderabad.

This College of Engineering has been established through a three-way collaboration involving Mahindra Group, École Centrale Paris, a 200-year-old leading French University dedicated to engineering education and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad.

Assuring a contemporary and international academic programme, the Institution is offering 180 seats for this five-year Integrated Dual Degree Program (IDP) of Mahindra École Centrale leading to B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees of Jawaharlal Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH).

There would be 60 seats each in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering and 30 seats each in Mechanical and Civil Engineering streams. Selection is based on JEE Mains results and a subsequent counselling. For NRI/PIO/International Passport holders the SAT Subject test results would be considered. The classes for the inaugural batch are slated for commencement on the August 4, 2014, according to a statement.

“Eminent people from industry will also be professors here in addition to professors by practice, knowledge and research and these are the people who will involve very closely with students. Infrastructure is world class, laboratories are of very high quality and it will be the kind of education that would transform your personality,” Sanjay Dhande, Founder Director, Mahindra École Centrale, said in a statement.

The institution seeks to provide world-class infrastructure to support a strong research vision in areas such as energy, environment, communications, computing, infrastructure, urban transportation, materials and defence. The Institution’s multidisciplinary approach is the guarantee of the programme’s modernity.

It has invited applications for the B.Tech and M.Tech IDP Program (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Science streams).
