Mumbai power outage: German firm points to global standards

Reacting to the power outage in Mumbai on Tuesday consequent to a technical glitch in Tata Power’s Trombay unit, Bratin Roy, Vice-President, Power Plant Services, TÜV SÜD South Asia, said, “Globally power plant owners adapt the practice of scientific programme of preventive maintenance and periodic inspection to ensure peak running condition of power plant for its entire life cycle.

“Further to this, risk based inspection can mitigate the occurrence of breakdown condition.”

TÜV SÜD South Asia is a German consultancy, testing, inspection and certification company.
