2-day Builders’ body meet begins in Vizag on Friday

The Builders' Association of India is organising its two-day Managing Committee and General Council Meeting, here from Friday at a private resort.

An industrial exhibition showcasing the latest trends in construction, machinery and equipment will also be organised on the occasion, according to All India National Vice-President of the association, Ch. Ramakotaiah.

Co-Chairman of the organisation committee Kumar Raja said a number key issues such as amendments to the National Building Code and National Construction Law Bill, to come up for deliberation in Parliament, will be discussed at the meet.

Other issues such as impact of GST, RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority), sand mining and pricing of raw material and construction material will also figure in the meet.

Ramakotaiah, said that the BAI was founded by Brigadier Jackson, an Englishman, in 1941 in Pune and there are now 170 centres across the country with 20,000 patron members and 1 lakh annual members.

The meet will be inaugurated by the Panchayat Raj Minister Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh will be attending the meet on the second day, Ramakotaiah added.
