Fresh catch

The Bhayander wholesale fish market witnesses a beehive of activity since 4.30 in the morning as fresh catch from the sea comes into the market. Retailers, hoteliers, street vendors and residents from neighbouring areas such as Virar, Nalla Sopara, Uttan, Palghar, Vasai and Naigaum flock the market to buy their favourite varieties like surmai, paplet, halva, bhangda, prawns etc. The prices are comparatively lesser than the local markets. – Photos: Shashi Ashiwal
